The current statutes were approved at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on December 16, 2022, held at the new headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. 

The main changes include:

• change of name to the Brazilian Society of Periodontics and Implantology - SOBRAPI
• Change of address: its headquarters to Rio de Janeiro.
• inclusion of another category of member: Foreign Associate.

Many other smaller changes have been made.
